Mirthe van Wermeskerken

(1998) is a printmaker, illustrator and ceramicist. Through her work, she creates a gateway to a world where the mystical and the everyday meet. Her high-contrast illustrations reveal a search for the surreal in ordinary things. The characters and symbols in her work tell stories that seem to form a new folklore, in which the interaction between humans and nature plays a key role.
